At a one-to-one breafing with Pocket-Lint, Greg Dullivan, senior product manager for Microsoft, confirmed Dell, HTC, ASUS, LG & Samsung as partners adopting their upcoming Windows Phone 7 OS for their mobile devices.
Sullivan told Pocket-Lint that Microsoft "believes it can quickly leapfrog operating systems like Palm's webOS, Nokia's MeeGo & Symbian platforms, Qualcomm's Brew MP, & Samsung's Bada, to become one of the top four operating systems on the market".
Sullivan added, "We will offer the best pf the iPhone, giving users the flexibility of different form factors, but with the rigidity of apps that are guaranteed to work on every device that us out there".
The phones are planned for release at the end of the year, which incidentally, is just a few months away.
Microsoft has already provided developers with a Samsung handset to aid in their work & testing. But this handset will not be sold commercially.
