Then Andy Rubin demoed a new Android tablet from Motorola, although this tablet wasn’t running Android 2.3, it was actually running Android 3.0 Honeycomb.

Google have said previously that current versions of their mobile OS weren’t optimized to be used on tablets, and that they would be launching Android 3.0 in the future, which would be the first version of Android that had features built in specifically for tablets.

Some of the new features shown off in Android 3.0 include a new UI and desktop with buttons and widgets in the corners, as well as a new lock screen, plus a new version of Google Maps which is based upon 3D vectors.

ARCAM RCUBE Beat Box!!

blogged by GmyDotCom

With its serious audiophilie blackground, the rCube is far from your dime-a-dozen iPod dock. British outfit Arcam's been in the hi-fi game for decades & it's poured all its sonic expertise into its first standalone iPod & iPhone dock.

Priced around the pound500 mark, the rCube is clearly designed to lock horns with B&W's Zeppelin & though its Borg Cube design lacks the visual flair of the Zap, its stark lines still look suitably high-end.

The rCube may have a rock-solid 5kg bulk but it's also not too heavy to lug from room to room, with the dock lid opening to reveal an aluminium shelf for easier grip

Under the bonnet there's a compact but powerful, 150W, class D amp, left & right side-mounted mid-bass drivers & a brace of tweeters. The bass drivers are craftily positioned at opposite ends so the backfiring force of each cancels the other out.

The upshot is less of the low-end boom that curses most iPod docks at high volume & more flexibility when placing the rCube around your gracious towngouse - it's happy whether you shove it on a desk, up against a wall or on a shelf.

The rechargeable battery gives if further license to roam. Crank up the volume & you'll be able get four hours of music out of it Keep the noise more neighbour-friendly & eight hours is achievable.
