DiGi Prepaid: Super LongLife!!

blogged by GmyDotCom

“Prepaid I Like” (Super FnF, Super SMS, Super Talk & Super Long Life), for those who still using DiGi Beyond, PowerPack & FuYoh!, you need to change your current plan to “DiGi Prepaid RM1” before apply for Super LongLife (RM30), and the CHANGE OF PLAN WILL BE CHARGED AT RM3.

To change plan, you need to keep your number validity in ‘active’. Then *128#, choose 7 for “Change Features”, then 2 for “Call Plan”, choose 1 DiGi Prepaid RM1.

Once you succesfully change your plan.
*128#, then choose 4 for Talktime Services, then 3 for Super LongLife.

for “Prepaid I Like”, the change of Plan is FOC, but only allowed to change once a month.

for “Prepaid I Like”, FnF numbers will be removed once the changed of plan is successful. Now, from “Prepaid I Like” (Super FnF, Super SMS & Super Talk) changed to “DiGi Prepaid RM1", all your FnF will be retained (the change of plan cannot be reversed; "Prepaid I Like" no more open for new subscription). The reason may be is to stop you from using 'Change Call Plan' to renew your FnF numbers.  (* for DiGi FnF number, DiGi give 11+3 times FOC for you to name your FnF list, exceeded that, every changes will be charged for RM2).

New Prepaid Plan From DiGi!!

blogged by GmyDotCom

DiGi has introduced a new prepaid plan called DiGi Easy Prepaid.  A cursory glance tells me that there is no complicated rate plans to remember – flat rates across all networks, whether on-net or off.  According to the FAQ, the major differences between the existing Prepaid and Easy Prepaid plans are:
  1. Those who make frequent calls and SMS to a group of three (3) numbers everyday;
  2. Those who are heavy Internet users (Mobile Internet).
Call/SMS/data charges are also easy to understand – they’re not time dependent, nor network dependent.

DiGi Smartplan with HTC Aria!! New!!

blogged by GmyDotCom

It's sort of hard to believe, but AT&T finally has an Android phone worth paying attention to. Mind you, the AT&T compatible Nexus One is easily the best Googlephone on America's largest GSM operator, but this is the first one that the company has bothered to brand and sell on a subsidized plan within its own stores. Pundits could argue the reasons why forever, but considering that the carrier's doing all it can just to keep up with the demand for iPhones, it's hard to imagine that AT&T has been longing to pursue Android with reckless abandon.

Believe it or not, it's been over 1.5 years since T-Mobile gave the world the first taste of a mobile OS that would soon rival (and surpass) the other options already on the table, but outside of the forgettable Backflip (and the nowhere-to-be-found Aero), there's been no Android to speak of on AT&T. HTC has somehow managed to break down the blue and orange walls, piercing the heart of a hardened operator and squeezing a delightful mid-range Android smartphone into a lineup that's about to be monumentally overshadowed by the iPhone 4.

So look, it's pretty obvious at first blush -- this is essentially an Android-infused HD Mini with a few chrome accents, a yellow interior (that no one will ever see, sadly) and a reworked button panel. While we certainly appreciated the HD Mini back at Mobile World Congress, we're going to hand the overall design award to the Aria; the silver faux screws on the rear, power strip at the top and volume rocker on the side are pure class, and the vivacious innards tickle us far more than they truly should. In a world where it's practically guaranteed that the next great smartphone will also be the most humongous smartphone, it's actually a breath of fresh air to see someone going in the opposite direction.

Measuring 4.1- x 2.3- x 0.46-inches and weighing 3.8 ounces with the 1,200mAh battery installed, the phone is light and tight in every respect. We also adore the matte black rear that both rejects fingerprints and slides easy in and out of the average denim pocket. We will say, however, that the über-glossy display (a 480 x 320 resolution capacitive touchpanel) was a tad too glossy when taken outside, and even with the brightness jacked, we had to squint to make out text when perusing Twitter updates under the blazing North Carolina sun.

We've also got mixed feelings about the button layout beneath the LCD; the optical trackpad works well enough (though we'll confess to missing the tactility of a trackball), but the capacitive buttons just don't do it for us. We're huge fans of feeling buttons depress, even if it's subtle, and we instantly wished that the home, menu, back and search buttons were more like those found on Huawei's S7. The haptic feedback definitely helps in letting you know if your input has been recognized, but we'd still prefer physical keys for easier use when not looking directly down at the handset.

For starters, we're huge fans of the HTC-built Sense overlay on top of Android 2.1. Having seven home panels (as opposed to five), a dedicated phone button at the bottom and an array of gorgeous widgets to choose from are real boons, and it's easy to miss these little things when using a stock Android build. By and large, we were shocked -- shocked -- by how quickly this phone hummed along. Given that Qualcomm's 1GHz Snapdragon was nowhere to be found (the Aria is outfitted with a 600MHz MSM 7227 alongside 512MB of ROM and 384MB of RAM), we didn't expect much on the speed front. Talk about having expectations shattered.

Even with a host of apps running in the background and home screens loaded with apps, we never experienced any notable lag when going from screen to screen or app to app. We were continuously impressed with how quickly the screen recognized our swipes, and it's safe to say that you're getting every last ounce of power from this 600MHz power plant. We even dialed up a few YouTube HQ videos over 3G while having a smattering of apps open in the background in an attempt to slow it down -- needless to say, our experiment failed in spectacular fashion.

HTC Legend Offer with DiGi Plan!!

blogged by GmyDotCom

That was pretty much the crux of our first impressions of HTC's latest Android-based smartphone, the Legend. With a chassis carved from a single piece of aluminium, with a beautiful sandblasted finish, this is one stunning looking device. As Gordon rightly pointed out at the World Mobile Congress, the Legend looks and feels somewhere between the first generation iPhone and the new unibody aluminium Macbooks, and we mean that in every possible good way.

However, there are a few immediate problems. First, contrary to what you might expect, matt aluminium like this still scratches fairly easily (though less so than plastic) and over time can be polished to a shine on exposed edges and corners. As such we'd be inclined to keep the Legend in some sort of case – I'm a big fan of the leather slip, like this one I use with my iPhone – that protects the phone when in transit but doesn't hide its design or inhibit its functionality when in use. However, due to the Legend's jutting jaw profile such cases can't be used. Aesthetically, we don't mind it and we appreciate it's a design feature that harks back to the first Android phone, the G1, and this phone's direct predecessor, the HTC Hero, but on a practical level we think it's something that needs to go.

On a more positive note, the power button on the top, volume rocker on the left edge, and central circular select button all feel very solid in terms of fit and have a superbly light yet defined action. The new optical trackball (the sensor for which sits in the middle of the central button) also looks great and works well. However, we still think that such things are largely unneeded on touchscreen phones – pin-pointing a cursor in text is about the only task we regularly used it for. Sadly it isn't a clean sweep when it comes to button quality, with the four black ones under the screen being a little wobbly, and sometimes leaving you unsure if you've pressed them properly. We also maintain that Android phones simply have too many buttons – all three of the Menu, Back, and Search buttons can easily be replicated in software without any loss of functionality.

There are no alarm bells when it comes to connectivity, though, as the Legend sports a conventional 3.5mm headphone jack on its top and a micro-USB socket on the bottom for connecting to a PC and charging the phone. There's also a microSD slot hidden under the bottom, black-coloured section on the back of the phone, so getting files on and off the phone is a cinch. This plastic section also pulls away to reveal the battery (Apple take note) and SIM slot. It's a beautiful mechanism, but it's a bit of a pain to power down the Legend to remove the microSD card.

BlackBerry Torch 9800 Smartphone!! Coming Soon on DiGi!!

blogged by GmyDotCom
It comes with the new BlackBerry 6 operating system and there is a lot to be excited about. BlackBerry 6 has something for everyone and personally, I am particularly enjoying the new universal search and auto-wrap text zoom features.

With the new BlackBerry Torch smartphone, we also believe our hardware team has delivered the best combined touch-qwerty experience available, seamlessly incorporating our signature BlackBerry keyboard and precision trackpad in a striking design that simply feels great in your hand. One of the things I love the most about the BlackBerry Torch design is the way it allows me to easily transition between using the touch screen, trackpad and keyboard interfaces. I can switch between them and interact with the handset and applications in a very natural way.

The BlackBerry Torch is also the first BlackBerry smartphone to ship with our new web browser and we invested a substantial amount of time and effort to engineer a WebKit-based browser that can operate quickly, beautifully and efficiently. In fact, Peter Rysavy today released a new study reporting on the efficiency of the BlackBerry 6 Browser with respect to data usage. We continue to believe that efficiency is an important advantage for our customers and an imperative for the wireless industry.

DiGi exploring LTE Technology!!

post by GmyDotCom

Recently DiGi demoed LTE technology at their premises in Shah Alam. The aim was to educate the staff & invited guests about the higher capacity & speed performance of this technology.
Visitors were shown live demonstrations of interactive gaming & fast streaming of high-definition videos on large screen flat-screen flat-panel display. They could also experience the Internet access at 100 Mbps. Huawei assisted in setting up these demos.

DiGi's chief technology officer Ole Martin Gunhildsbu said "Exploring LTE is a natural course of action for us at DiGi as we want to keep our options open as to which future network technology will best support our customers in the long run. It is important for our customers & employees to understand what LTE technology is all about & what it can offer them.

DiGi believes that the demo will create a more exciting way for them to learn more about LTE as well as getting a taste of what they can expect from broadband in the future. This event is also DiGi's response to the government's call to the communications industry to further enhance their service offerings in terms of coverage & affordability".
